Communication Mediums
It's a give and take you can win at.
If you have something to say, consider the channel you say it in.
When you don't .... communication suffers, and people don't enjoy being there.
That's why I made this free chart on the pros and cons of our professional communication mediums.
You get the whole spectrum in this scale, from speaking in person all the way to sending a hardcopy letter.
And I've recently updated it with two pages of tips for using it to maximize your communication.
Use it to adjust your message to be more effective, so the people you're communicating with get the full import of what you're telling them.
Not doing so is one of the most common mistakes I've seen in 25 years of teaching entrepreneurs and professionals.
🔸
Poorly-used communication mediums erode your teamwork and destroy the will to participate.
Avoid These Problems:
- Having cameras on in a meeting but nobody using them for eye contact
- Emails that don't refer to the context
- Speaking in a meeting with no body language
- Involving another party in a meeting, whom other participates can't see or hear
- Assuming others know who you are when you message or speak to them
- Joining a meeting without arranging notes in a quick-reference system
- Presenting without the crucial note-checking skill
Bottom line:
Your audience is waiting and they want you to succeed.
They want a great message from you.
That's why they're here.
Better communication begins by knowing your equipment
and how to use it.
Helping you with that is why I'm here!
